Every gemstone we offer begins as rough material selected by hand in Ethiopia's mining regions. From there, each stone follows one of two paths: some are kept and traded as rough gemstones for cutters and collectors who want to work the material themselves, and others are sent to Thailand to be cut and polished by lapidaries who have spent decades reading the character of a crystal before a single facet is placed.
